I grew up in Cheney, Kansas. I was surrounded by all mediums of art thanks to my mom, an art teacher. It wasn't until college that I was introduced to design, but fell in love with it after the first class! I graduated Summa Cum Laude in May of 2022 with a Bachelors of Arts in Graphic Design and Marketing Communications from Kansas Wesleyan University. During school I had various internships in the art world combining my skills in design and marketing.
Now, I continue to for an agriculturally focused advertising agency in Kansas City as one of their graphic designers while doing freelance design work on the side. Using various applications including Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Procreate, I have found my niche using color, shape, layout and hand drawn elements to enhance my designs. Although my main focus is design, I also enjoy creating my own pieces through printmaking, drawing, and painting in my spare time.
Design Philosophy
I am a graphic designer who specializes in layout and illustrative design. I have completed 2D work for many different companies all across the United States. I continually serve clients who work in industries such as real estate, education, weddings, plumbing, safety, apparel, and more . In addition, I am an employee for AdFarm in Kansas City, MO, where I help to design social media, print ads, logos, digital ads, and more.
I have produced digital and physical publications using the Adobe suite software. Stylistically, I design with balance and bold colors. I love to add an illustrative element in my designs to create visual interest for the viewer. Primarily, I use text as a main source of communication in my designs, but enjoy adding other elements such as color, shape, and line to enhance my designs.
Personal Life
When I'm not immersed in the world of graphic design, you can often find me getting lost in a good book, spending quality time with my fiancé and our dog, or traveling. Traveling brings me immense happiness and is one of my greatest passions. I love exploring new places, soaking in different cultures, and experiencing the beauty of diverse landscapes. Each journey fills me with inspiration and fresh perspectives, which I love to incorporate into my designs. The colors, textures, and stories I encounter on my travels breathe life into my work, making each project a unique reflection of the world I've seen.
